Hi, I'm Abby
I’m a creative project coordinator and designer based in Metro Vancouver. I bring people, ideas, and production details together to move creative projects from concept to delivery.
My experience spans cultural publications, live activations, visual design, and teaching. I enjoy taking ownership, shaping creative direction, coordinating collaborators, and working through the unexpected challenges along the way.
With a hands-on background in design, I understand both the creative decisions and the practical work needed to bring an idea to life.
I’m looking for a creative coordination or project leadership role where I can guide the process, contribute to the design, and help a team deliver thoughtful work.
Creative work, from direction to delivery
At Embrace Doha, I worked as a Creative Project Manager across cultural publications, live activations, and visual storytelling. My role combined hands-on design with coordinating partners, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
I led the design and production of three cultural booklets for the 2022 World Cup, developed original photography, and managed Siraj Animation activations while leading their visual design. For the WTM London cultural pavilion, I contributed 3D visualization and cultural consultation.
After moving to Canada, I continued working remotely with the team.
Teaching through making
At VCUarts Qatar, I supported Art Foundation’s Surface and Space studios as a teaching assistant. Students explored everything from plaster casting and layered paper compositions to miniature models, puppets, found-object sculptures, and Rube Goldberg machines.
I was a regular point of contact between classes, answering questions, maintaining group communication, and helping students work through practical challenges. Alongside fellow TAs, I photographed and documented both their creative processes and finished work.
I also independently initiated, designed, and managed the Space Research Instagram page. I developed its visual identity, curated student projects, and created reusable Illustrator and Photoshop templates. I handed over the system with written instructions to the next teaching assistant, and the page and templates are still in use today.
Separately, as an adjunct professor, I taught an advanced technology course covering CNC cutting, laser engraving, and 3D printing. Across these roles, I encouraged learning through experimentation while developing my own ability to guide people, coordinate communication, and make creative work visible.
Photography, alongside my practice
Alongside design and coordination, I’m developing a freelance photography practice. I especially enjoy portraiture and the process of helping someone feel comfortable in front of the camera.
Photography gives me another way to connect with people, observe closely, and tell stories through light, colour, and composition.
